In Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity, David Allen sets out how to collect and prioritize your to-do list, so that you can focus on the job at hand without being constantly distracted by upcoming or non-essential tasks. Since I'm always juggling a couple freelance projects with family commitments, I'm a big fan of Allen's approach.
